In the territory/countryside of Toro, at the border with Monacilioni,
there is a cottage that gives hospitality to the people with drug
problems.
This Community is called "La valle" and was founded by Father Lino
Jacobucci, a thoroughbred Torese.
The importance of the activity of recovery has been underlined by the
repeated visits of the Minister of the Interior (Secretary of the
Interior) Rosa Russo Jervolino, and by the ex-Italian leader Oscar
Luigi Scalfaro.
Besides the Community, we must mention the Institute of rehabilitation
"", placed close to the Friary and founded by the
biologist Aurelio Giacci.
The Institute was solemnly inaugurated in 1988 by the Cardinal Ugo
Poletti, Vicar of Rome, at the presence of several civil and religious
authorities of Province/Region of Molise.
The main aim of the Fisiomedica Loretana was the rehabilitation of
people with congenital physical and mental handicaps, but at the
beginning of 1990, to face the numerous requests, the Responsible of
the Centre decided to open a new department for people with disorders
occurred in adult age.
The building cover an area of 2500 square metres, has got 3 floors and
is surrounded by 8000 square metres of garden.
The Institute is provided with in the van laboratories and 3 gymnasia;
besides, it has got also small laboratories of joinery, embroidery,
sewing where the patients can spend their time in a useful way.
The Fisiomedica has got 73 beds, subdivided in 2 autonomous
departments; the Hospital has an agreement to give hospitality to
people in residential regime.
